Based on the results from the District Band and Choir Assessments, Manassas Park will once again be recognized by VMEA with the Blue Ribbon School Award for Music!
The MPHS Symphonic Band scored perfect 1’s from all four judges earning the rating of “Superior” for 2023 District Band Assessment. This is a HUGE achievement as they took some of the hardest repertoire this program has ever played and it was magnificent!
The MPHS Chamber Singers and Concert Choir scored perfect SUPERIOR ratings from all four judges at their District IX Choir Assessment! They sang their hearts out and had the opportunity to create beautiful music together!!
The VMEA Blue Ribbon Award is the highest award given to a school's music program in the Commonwealth of Virginia and recognizes achieved excellence in Band, Orchestra, and Choral Performance. All disciplines in a school must receive a rating of Superior at assessment to qualify for this award.
This is a very proud day for our music programs at MPHS!! Congratulations to our students for their hard work and dedication. And thank you to our our music directors, Kristina Schenck for Choir, and Molly Brolaski for Band, for their knowledge, guidance, and support of our students.
